This milestone is located just to the south of the sidewalk leading to the front door of the house at 1712 Whitney Avenue, on the northwest corner of Elihu Street.

The street was likely named for Elihu Humiston, whose father, Justus Humiston, built the house across Whitney some years before the turnpike went through.
