Origin unknown for this road that, along with Downes Rd., once formed a through route from Bethany to Cheshire. It still exists as hiking trails in Naugatuck State Forest and Brooksvale Park, and a small part near the Cheshire line is shown as a paper street on the tax assessor map.

Leeds is a town in Maine. Likely never built because of a steep grade, the street was in the State Street Terrace subdivision with other streets named for Maine towns (see present Edgecomb St.) The flat portion near State St. remains as a paper street.

Merritt Parkway – Merritt Parkway at Stratford line NE and N across Milford, Orange, Woodbridge, New Haven, Hamden, North Haven, Wallingford, Meriden to U.S. Route 5; State Route 15; built 1941 to 1949.
Name sometimes applied incorrectly to Wilbur Cross Pkwy. The confusion may result from Route 15 being prominently signed "Merritt Parkway" from the New York state line to Stratford, but when the name changes in Milford, there are no "Wilbur Cross Parkway" signs. Named for congressman Schuyler Merritt.

Perhaps named for the New Haven or Connecticut Colony, this road is shown as a paper extension of Craft St. on the tax assessor map.
Old Dixwell Avenue – Skiff St. N and NW to Dixwell Av. opposite Shepard Av.; Centerville; on 1852 map.
This was the original route of Dixwell between Skiff and Shepard. Between 1927 and 1935, it was rerouted on a more gentle curve to the west. In the 1980s, lanes were redesigned so only northbound traffic used the old section and southbound on the new. The Old Dixwell name was no longer needed for this section, but there is still an Old Dixwell Av. closer to Town Hall.
Origin of the name of this street that was obliterated by the Home Depot rear parking lot is unknown. Labeled Olymipa Av. on the plat.
Orchard Street - End S of Forest St. NE and N to Monroe St.; Centerville, Mt. Carmel; on 1896 plat.
Orchards were in the area on the 1934 aerial photo. Similar to paper Edgewood Av., it was listed in some older city directories and still exists as a paper street for tax assessment purposes.
