Origin of the name of this street that was obliterated by the Home Depot rear parking lot is unknown.
This very short street with an obviously descriptive name (originally Scenic View Rd.) was laid out with four lots. No development of it is visible on a 1990 aerial photo. It was abandoned in 1998 and became part of the Quinnipiac University campus.

Name shown on the plat for what is now the western half of Jackson Rd. Perhaps named for Tokeneke, a Native American chief who lived in what is now Darien. A neighborhood there bears his name. Perhaps renamed to avoid confusion with Tokeneke Dr. nearby in the Millbrook section of North Haven.

Watson Street – Actual street in New Haven from Bassett St. N to Daisy St., formerly continued N across Hamden line to Goodrich St.; New Haven, Highwood; on 1868 map.
Watson Goodyear (1838-1891) was the son of Chauncey Goodyear (see Goodyear St.) [Townshend]. The block from Daisy to Goodrich across the city line was abandoned to build apartments, but the street name is shown on the tax assessor map as the driveway to a parking lot.

Name given to Eli Rd. on this map. George Whiting (d. 1915) is buried in Whitneyville Cemetery and the house of G. Whiting is on the street on the 1868 map. He also had a house near the current Whiting St. in Highwood.

This short street named for Eli Whitney was lost due to construction of Wilbur Cross Pkwy. It was where the looping southbound Exit 61 ramps are now.

Original name for Woodin St. Samuel Wooding died in the Revolutionary War. Hobart Wooding died in the Civil War [Abner Oakes]. William Wooding had a house on the 1868 map.

This is the only known example of a trap street in Hamden. It was listed in the 1939 through 1949 city directories, but there is no other evidence that it actually existed. The directory publishers included it so that if it ever appeared on another map or directory, they could prove their copyright was violated.
